Something incredible happened when I was younger. A genre long thought to be dead with the dominance of television, the radio drama format was reintroduced to an audience hungry for it without them even knowing they were hungry for it. With Star Wars capturing the imagination of people of all ages, young and old alike it ushered in a new era of science fiction in film and television... but it also extended to radio as well. As witnessed by Douglas Adam's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio series (1978/1981 US) and the Star Wars radio series (1981) millions were introduced to the incredible special effects and visuals that radio had to offer to the science fiction genre format.

Hitchhiker's Guide to British Sci-Fi Podcast Launched

From the creators of Doctor Who: Podshock comes a new podcast covering all British science fiction. It is being previewed here on the Doctor Who: Podshock feed for a limited time (it also has it's own feeds as well). While this podcast will still cover some Doctor Who material, it obviously won't be as in-depth as Doctor Who: Podshock though it won't be limited to it either.
