[Gallifreyan Embassy]

Something incredible happened when I was younger. A genre long thought to be dead with the dominance of television, the radio drama format was reintroduced to an audience hungry for it without them even knowing they were hungry for it. With Star Wars capturing the imagination of people of all ages, young and old alike it ushered in a new era of science fiction in film and television... but it also extended to radio as well. As witnessed by Douglas Adam's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio series (1978/1981 US) and the Star Wars radio series (1981) millions were introduced to the incredible special effects and visuals that radio had to offer to the science fiction genre format.

The artwork here is inspired by the classic special effects which were common in British science fiction on television in the late 70's to the early-to-mid 80's (i.e. Blake's 7, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Tripods, Doctor Who, etc.).
